Getting the best result from your custom sticker order starts with proper application. Whether you are installing event stickers on glass or packaging labels on product boxes, following a systematic approach ensures your decal adheres correctly and lasts. This guide focuses on standard vinyl decals, including die-cut and holographic finishes, to help you achieve a professional look without bubbles or peeling.

1. Prepare the Surface
The most critical step is ensuring the application surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or moisture. Use a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol to wipe the area thoroughly. Allow it to dry completely. Avoid applying stickers to textured surfaces, dirty walls, or freshly painted areas that have not cured for at least 30 days, as these conditions compromise adhesion.

2. Test the Placement
Before removing the backing, hold the sticker against the surface to verify the position. Mark the corners with a small piece of painter’s tape if needed. This step is especially important for large decals or complex shapes where precision matters. Once satisfied with the placement, proceed to the next step.

3. Remove the Backing
Peel the backing paper away slowly. For small stickers, you can remove the backing entirely before application. For larger decals, consider using transfer tape to hold the design in place while you position it. If your order includes custom cut-vinyl decals, ensure the design remains flat and aligned during this process.

4. Apply and Smooth
Place the sticker onto the surface, starting from one edge and rolling it down gradually. Use a squeegee, credit card, or soft cloth to press out air bubbles as you go. Work from the centre outward to push any trapped air toward the edges. Apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface to ensure full contact with the adhesive.

5. Final Inspection
Check for any remaining bubbles or lifted edges. If a bubble persists, gently lift the sticker and reapply, smoothing as you go. For textured surfaces, use a hairdryer on low heat to soften the vinyl, making it more pliable and easier to conform to the surface.

By following these steps, you can maximize the lifespan and appearance of your custom stickers. Remember, customer-supplied artwork is printed as-is, so ensure your design is high-resolution and properly formatted before ordering.
