What Makes a Sticker Actually Waterproof
Most stickers marketed as “waterproof” are just paper with a thin plastic coating. They survive a light drizzle. They do not survive a Canadian winter. The difference is in the construction: substrate, ink, adhesive, and laminate all have to work together to keep water, UV, and temperature from destroying the sticker.
Our waterproof stickers start with a cast or calendered vinyl substrate — real plastic film, not paper with a coating. The design is printed using eco-solvent pigment ink that chemically bonds to the vinyl surface. Then a UV-protective laminate layer is applied over the entire print, sealing the ink from water, sunlight, abrasion, and chemical contact.
The adhesive is a permanent acrylic formula rated for extreme temperatures. It does not soften in summer heat or become brittle in winter cold. It bonds to metal, glass, plastic, painted surfaces, fibreglass, and wood — and stays bonded through years of weather exposure.
The result is a sticker that is genuinely waterproof: not splash-resistant, not water-repellent, but fully sealed against water penetration from any angle, including full submersion. Dishwasher safe. Salt spray safe. Fuel splash safe. This is what outdoor-rated means.
