Westlock is Northern Alberta's Prairie Provinces grain elevator heritage community — the Westlock County town where the Westlock Canadian Grain Commission elevator (one of Alberta's last operating heritage wooden grain elevators) stands beside the CN railway tracks, and where the Alberta Pioneer Railway Museum preserves one of Canada's finest collections of working steam locomotives and vintage CN railway equipment — home of the Westlock and District Museum, the gateway to Lesser Slave Lake's winter fishing traditions, and the service centre for the mixed-grain and cattle farms of the Pembina River valley.
