Perth-Andover is the dual-community gateway of the upper Saint John River — the Victoria County amalgamated town where the Tobique River joins the Saint John (creating one of New Brunswick's finest salmon and smallmouth bass fishing confluences) and where the Andover-Perth Historical Museum preserves the heritage of the long-settled agricultural plain that French Acadian settlers first farmed in the 18th century before the Loyalist arrival — home of the annual Perth-Andover Winter Festival and a community whose position at the river confluence made it the commercial centre for the surrounding potato-farming townships for over 150 years.
