Nakina is the Canadian National Railway's most remote Ontario junction — a tiny Greenstone District community that exists solely because of the CN Railway's Nakina Subdivision junction, where the CN mainline west and the Nakina Branch north to Hearst connect through some of the most remote boreal forest in Ontario — home of the world-class musky and brook trout fishing of the Nagagami River system, the Nakina Forestry Station, and a community of 500 that has survived as Ontario's least accessible rail-service town entirely through its role as a wilderness outfitting base.
