Daysland is the community that saved its hospital against all odds — the Flagstaff County agricultural town that mobilized its 800 residents to fight successfully against the closure of the Daysland Health Centre in the 1990s, becoming a model for rural health care advocacy across Alberta — home of the Daysland Agricultural Society (with one of Alberta's oldest running agricultural fairs since 1907), the Daysland Heritage House, and a community where the agricultural calendar has defined community life for over a century in the Battle River's most productive grain belt.
